Praised for the “clarity of his technique, richly varied tone and dynamic phrasing” (Baltimore Sun), pianist Alexander Korsantia will be giving a piano master class on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM in Rivera Recital Hall.
Mr. Korsantia is a First Prize/Gold medal winner of the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition and the First Prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition. He has performed all around the world and has performed with orchestras including the Chicago Symphony, Kirov Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic, and the Cincinnati Symphony.
Korsantia has released multiple albums and has served on multiple jury panels for major piano competitions including the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition. In his home country of Georgia, he served as Artistic Director of the Easter Festival for many years, an institution he continues to support as Artistic Advisor. He is the recipient of Georgia’s numerous awards including the most prestigious ones: The Order of Honor and the Roustaveli Prize. Korsantia resides in Boston where he is a Professor of Piano on the faculty of the New England Conservatory.
