Payment for each 16-week semester is expected in full by the beginning of each semester or the first lesson. Tuition for students enrolling after the start of either semester is pro-rated. Returning students can re-register in May and must pay a deposit of $200/per class, lesson or ensemble. A $40 late fee will be charged to any account not paid by the due date listed on the bill.

Students who wish to withdraw from lessons or classes for the second semester (Spring), must notify the director in writing received no later than December 31st, 2023. Students who cancel or withdraw with proper notice after December 31st, 2023 but before the start of the semester will be entitled to a refund of prepaid tuition, less the cost of one lesson which shall be deducted from their total tuition refund. No tuition refunds shall be provided for withdrawals or cancellations that do not comply with the notice procedures including the required deadline. Registration fees in all circumstances shall be non-refundable.

  • Teachers are required to make up one lesson due to a student absence per semester, with cancellation made 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time.
  • Any absences or cancellation notifications made after the 24 hour mark are not required to be rescheduled and no refunds will be given.
  • Make-up lessons and classes are guaranteed if a teacher is absent, if a lesson or class falls on a legal holiday, or if the school is closed due to inclement weather. If a student cancels or misses an arranged make-up lesson, it will not be rescheduled and no refund will be given.
  • Make-up lessons are not given for student absences from classes or ensembles.

Trial lessons incur the same per-lesson tuition charge as regular lessons. Please see the current tuition rates.

Trial lessons are generally scheduled by the teacher and student and not by the RSC office. Both teachers and students are required to notify the office when a trial lesson has been scheduled in order to insure room availability and proper billing.

The Rivers School Conservatory is closed on national holidays and any other dates published on our calendar and website.

Closings and schedule updates can be found on the RSC website and general voicemail. If The Rivers School closes due to inclement weather, RSC is required to close as well.

Please see the current list of holidays and closings for more information.
